3 Ways to Style a Leather Jacket
I think everyone has one specific item of clothing that makes them feel confident. For me, it’s a (faux) leather jacket. I love them so much that I own 6 in various colors (red, green, pink, and 3 black ones). They’re practical and easy to dress up or down depending on your mood. Here’s 3 different ways I like to style a leather jacket ranging from a little dressy to straight athleisure.
I went to a wedding one time and saw this girl wearing a very girly pink mini dress with a black leather jacket layered over it. I had the most style envy and it really made me realize just how versatile a good leather jacket is. This outfit is so comfortable and I really feel like the jacket makes what would otherwise be a very girly dress a little more edgy… which is totally my brand haha. I’m head over heels in love with this long sleeved dress, but I was so disappointed when it arrived and it was way too short on me. This is not a common problem for me because I’m 5’3”, but I saved it by layering it over a nude slip with a lace bottom. These boots are actually from Walmart too! If you read my Walmart Fall Haul blog post, you know that Walmart has seriously stepped up their clothing game and these booties are proof. They’re true to size and comfy enough to wear all day due to the low heel and memory foam sole padding.

This outfit is basically my uniform in the fall and winter. You just can not go wrong with a leather jacket layered over a fun graphic tee and a pair of jeans. It’s a super simple way to look totally put together while also being comfy AF. Knowing me, I’d probably plop a wide brim black hat on before heading out the door (my mom says it’s my signature haha). These black jeans are my ride or dies from Target. They have just the right amount of stretch and structure. This Halloween graphic tee is so stinkin comfy and incredibly cheap (currently only $7.99!)
I firmly believe a leather jacket can be layered over just about everything- including athleisure. This time, I layered it over this super lightweight color-blocked hoodie and my fave pair of 7/8 length leggings and a pair of Nikes for a super easy-breezy running errands or traveling outfit. My sneakers are on sale under $50 today! I love this hoodie because it’s almost a t-shirt material, making it a perfect transitional piece going into Fall.
